Besides starting businesses and watching them grow, I also enjoy working alongside others who are on the same path. In fact, I had the privilege of doing that with Jason Poitras and Field Talk Radios, before he eventually sold it to another entrepreneur.
To begin with, Jason approached me at the very start of his project. His gear used Bluetooth technology to interact with various survey equipment, and he had already designed a bag to strap the equipment to surveying tripods. At that stage, he wanted a local company to handle production.
In March 2008, we launched with just 10 units, which, at first, took a few months to sell. However, demand soon increased, and we produced and sold 60 more in the same timeframe. As a result, production momentum continued to build, and eventually, we scaled into hundreds of units. Well done!
